Find a Bargain in Woodstock
Published Friday November 28th, 2008

The Carleton Mall will have a new tenant next month, just in time for the holidays.
A Canadian-owned retail chain, The Bargain Shop, is moving into the old SAAN location on Connell Street. SAAN closed its doors earlier this summer due to the national company going into receivership.
The new store is slated to open its doors on Friday, Dec. 5, at 9 a.m. The grand opening will feature a ribbon-cutting ceremony and will offer shoppers a chance to meet the staff and enjoy some in-store specials and savings on merchandise just in time for Christmas.
The Bargain Shop offers a wide variety of home furnishings – including electronics, housewares and home textiles – as well as low prices on brand name clothing lines for men, women and children. The store also carries a large selection of footwear, food, cleaning products, toys, and health and beauty products, with new merchandise arriving every week.
The Woodstock location is the second one to open in Carleton County. Earlier this fall, Florenceville-Bristol saw the Bargain Shop open its doors at the old Buckingham's location on Main Street.
When the new store opens, it will bring the Bargain Shop's stores up to 11, making it one of the largest retailers in the province.
