Woman to be charged after narrowly missing police car, collides with another vehicle

Three females were transported to hospital when a two-vehicle collision closed lower Main Street in Woodstock early Thursday morning.
Traffic was re-routed for close to eight hours as officers investigated the scene near the former Hinky Dinky Take-Out.
A Woodstock Police Force officer was on routine patrol around 12:48 a.m. when he observed a vehicle coming around a turn towards him.
Cpl. Carter Stone stated the vehicle, described as a 1990 Honda Accord, was travelling at a high-rate of speed in the officer's lane.
"The officer swerved right to miss the vehicle and ran into the curb," Cpl. Stone reported. "The vehicle narrowly missed the patrol car and hit a 2007 Ford Fusion head on."
The Jaws of Life unit was used to free a 49-year-old female driver from the Accord. She was the lone occupant of the vehicle and was taken to the Upper River Valley Hospital by ambulance.
Cpl. Stone noted her injuries were not known by police at press time.
The two female occupants of the Fusion were also transported to hospital where they were treated for minor injuries.
"Criminal charges will be laid for refusal of a blood demand and impaired driving causing injury," Cpl. Stone stated.
Due to the seriousness of the crash, Cpl. Stone said the Fredericton City Police accident reconstruction unit was called in to reconstruct the accident.
"This incident remains under investigation, there is a lot of work to do yet," Cpl. Stone said Thursday. "A mechanical inspection of the Accord is expected to be completed later today."
