
Midget Panthers drop two

The Western Valley Panthers dropped two road games on the Nov. 15 weekend in N.B. Midget Minor AAA Hockey League play to fall to 5-4-1 in the association.
The Panthers currently reside in third in the loop.
The local side lost back-to-back games to Moncton on Saturday and Sunday at the 4-Ice Centre by scores of 4-2 and 8-4.
In the 4-2 loss, Adam Plant and Billy Rae Rattray scored for the local side, with two helpers to Brandon MacDougald. Josh Watling added one assist.
Brandon Sipprell stopped 35 of 39 shots in the Panthers' cage.
In the 8-4 loss, Luca McSheffrey had three goals and a helper, with three assists to MacDougald.
Patrick Doherty added a marker and a helper, with two assists to Plant.
Billy Parker went 56 minutes in the Panthers' net, turning aside 28 of 35 shots.
Sipprell notched four minutes, stopping three of the four shots he faced.
The Panthers will be back in league play on Saturday, Nov. 29 in a 3:30 p.m. road start in Campbellton. They are back at home on Sunday, Nov. 30 in a 1 p.m. game in Hartland.
